Mad Stunts

A stunt is an unusual and difficult physical feat, or any act requiring a special skill, performed for artistic purposes in TV, theatre or cinema. Stunts are a big part of many action movies. Before computer generated imagery special effects, these effects were limited to the use of models, false perspective and other in-camera effects - unless the creator could find someone willing to jump from car to car or hang from the edge of a skyscraper - the stunt performer. Mad stunts aren't just performed for film and television. There is a great tradition of dare devil stunt men who perform death defying stunts in front of live audiences at stunt shows. Probably the most famous stuntman of them all was Robert Craig "Evel" Knievel, Jr. who performed public displays of long distance, high-altitude motorcycle jumping which often resulted in serious injuries, particularly during the 1960s. His crazy motorcycle stunts and failures got him into the Guinness Book of World Records several times including his record forty broken bones.

People also use BMXs to perform mad stunts. This is called street riding and occurs on public streets or private property, typically within cities and towns. Without purpose-made ramps, riders have to improvise with banks, walls, rails, gaps, etc. In fact, almost anything can be used as an obstacle, and it is precisely this that draws people to street riding. Street riding relentlessly progresses, with obstacles, tricks and mad stunts that were considered too big or technical to attempt, becoming common place. Taken from Wikipedia.
